It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas on this rustic farmhouse Christmas porch! Christmas is my favorite holiday to decorate for. The short days create a dark backdrop great for lots of ambient Christmas lights, the smell of fresh pine permeates the air, the fire is lit, Christmas music is playing, and cheerful decorations are everywhere I look. This year on my porch, I chose a bright colored Christmas welcome mat since I’m still on my teal and coral kick. I left my bench out and filled a lantern with some colorful Christmas bulbs. I added rustic character with my log reindeer and fake garland around the door. And farmhouse style was incorporated with an old sled and bucket of pine cones.
Obviously, in the colder climates, people don’t sit out on their porches. But leaving the rockers out and adding a pillow and throw blanket is an easy, festive way to add cozy Christmas cheer!
I like to buy lights at the end of season while they are on clearance and pack them away for the following year. This year, we strung lights around the front posts.
This year we also added candle lights to each side of my brick walk.
I hand painted a piece of barn siding with one of my many favorite Christmas words! I like place the lantern on the bench to give it more height and the bucket of pine cones on the floor to give this display more dimension.
Love all the decors! They’re perfect!
