A very cramped back entrance, a tiny laundry room, and a 70's style closed in kitchen are the reasons this family would like to expand.
To create enough room in the laundry room and garage door entrance we pushed the wall joining the kitchen into the kitchen a few feet. Then we expanded the kitchen and dining room into the backyard and added a sitting room. The new kitchen was designed with more cabinetry and wall cabinets that run to the ceiling to maximize storage. A 4' island is centered to add more workspace and storage and a pantry and more cabinetry add more storage to the other side. We designed lockers for the back entrance to keep shoes and winter gear organized and floor to ceiling open shelving for laundry baskets and storage tubs.
We hammered out cabinet details last week with Battershell Cabinets and are excited about a trip to the granite yard next week. Construction is about to begin!
My 3d program is a great tool but a hand rendering will add all the details that my program doesn't show!
Granite, granite, and more granite! Our final selection: Kashmir Cream which is the very last lot of Kashmir cream EVER!!!
Let the FUN begin!!
