Back in it's heyday this room was the formal living room boasting gold sculpted carpet and gorgeous gold and green wallpaper above the chair rail. Then with a growing family's needs, it was divided into a 5th bedroom and small dining room. But now, these empty nesters are in need of a dining room that will accommodate their kids and their 17 grandchildren!
The wall dividing the rooms was removed and the ceiling is ready to come down!
A step ceiling was built over the dining area and left lower in the sitting room area to divide the spaces. Vinyl plank flooring was installed and all of the trim was painted white. We are in the process of building a bench seat with storage to put in the front window to add extra seating for the holiday parties and a shelving unit for the left wall to mirror the bump out on the right side.
